Although this little kitten is absolutely adorable and somehow this made me laugh out loud, I gotta ask.... Is The Pet abuse?

Cool hair Vid man!
Something fun and light for cold November day! I am currently taking drawing classes and so I am a real fan all things drawing right now! Anyway as I scoured Youtube in search of educational videos on drawing I came across this video that tied both of these worlds together! I thought it was cool and wanted to share it with you all, I hope you enjoy it because I was amazed at how simple he made it look and how nicely it was finished. Anyway check it out!

C`mon Baby... Let`s Do The Twist!
Hey Folks! Hope everyone is well and dry on this rainy rainy day. I think that slowly and steadily this awesome summer is passing us by :(
As much as I am gonna hate that, at least we have had a beautiful one filled with sun and fun! Well, it`s not over yet and as I am writing this the sun has just come out again! Anyway let`s get to today`s Million Dollar question!
"Hi Jon, I have started to take notice of this trend that we are so obviously living out right now, and that is VINTAGE! Its all over the place, from furniture and nic-naks, to clothing and accessories it is everywhere. My favourite "old-time" hair style is the french roll and I was wondering if you had any videos that I could watch to help me learn how to do one on myself? Thanks and keep it up, I have really enjoyed reading and watching your content."
You Are In LUCK !!! We DO have a video that showcases exactly that! Lindsay Plaskett is one of our most senior stylists at our Yonge and Eglinton location. She is not only a phenomenal stylist for other people but also is AMAZING at styling her own! Anyway I have to have you take a look at this video because I am astonished that it is exactly what you asked me about! I think you will take a lot out of this vid and I hope you master it after this! Thanks again for your kind words and I hope to keep you interested in our content. Thank you for your continued readership.

Tight Buns!
Hi Guys! Today we have a question regarding buns, ohh yeah that sounds sexy! Ha Ha! Anyway in all seriousness Tammy from Newmarket is gettin married this summer and wants to know if there is any video of us doing classical buns that are low and sleek. I have a video from one of our photo shoots this past year that I think will do just fine. Hope she gets a good feel for what we are able to do, Check out her question and our video to follow!
"Hi Jon, I am getting married this coming August and have yet to find a hair style! Anyway I really like polished buns that are placed slightly off center. Have you got any video of this type of look? Maybe it will be worth the drive from Newmarket!"

Now That`s Change!
So today I decided that instead of answering one particular question I wanted to answer a generic type of question that I get asked on a regular basis. Its not really a question per say, but more of a query that I get asked about by clients from time to time. That is:
"How do you guys do these hair donations in salon ?"
A lot of people are curious as to where we cut the hair, and how donations look. Soo... I figure the best way to showcase the changes we make when donating to causes like " Locks Of Love". Many of us have been directly effected by Cancer and feel like this is a great way to help show their support. Also, who in their right mind does`nt want to see a WICKED MAKEOVER?!!! Check Out The Vid!

Ruffled Feathers!!!
So, yesterday we covered a really hot trend in Undercutting. We make it a priority to stay current and so today, today we are gonna cover yet another really hot trend... Feathers! Right now we are seeing a resurgence of an older trend from the late sixties and early seventies. At that time hippies were runnin wild! Flowers and feathers in your headsets were a necessity! Well, its true in fashion just like in life that what goes around does come back around. There are a couple of companies that have started producing these feathers and are rockin it out making some great products. We really like the brand and approach of this company Fine Featherheads. We feel like this is a trend that again will be hot for the spring and summer months ahead. These easy to use, cool coloured, easily maintained extensions add dimension and style to your look. Slowly but surely we are starting to see more celebs sporting them also. Anyway check out this video for a look at the style, and feel of this upcoming trend!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME !!!
Okay although I must admit I have seen some pretty cool cuts done by people on themselves (yeah, yeah strange I know!) 99.9% of the time it ends like this. I think its amazing that there are so many talented and creative individuals who feel it`s okay to attack their hair with scissors! and I cant lie it can work depending on what you`re doing. However, you have to be someone who is okay with maybe lookin a little grungy! If you work in the corporate world I cannot stress to you enough that this is not for you. Now, having said that some people are a little more daring and care just that much less. It takes guts and confidence to grab a pair of kitchen scissors and start going to work on your head! Even this young lady (Gash) seems daring enough and then... Well take a look for yourself. I`ll tell you this, it got a great reaction out of us!

SXSWi... Incredible.
We had an absolutely incredible experience at this years SXSWi; we went down there to do the hair of one specific person and came home having made great connections with some fantastic people. Quite frankly, it feels like the book "the secret" played itself out for us in Texas.
Originally we had contacted Gary Vaynerchuk and were heading down to "South By" (as I have learned to call it) specifically to cut his hair live on stage after his keynote. Unfortunately, rules and regulations governing this event didn't allow for this to happen as planned, which we were informed of the night before we were scheduled to leave! Well, it all worked out in the end as the crew at Vaynermedia were quick to make other arrangements. We were told that although this could not happen on stage, Gary would be happy to have us back at his condo where we could cut his hair and talk shop for a while. This was a trade off we were happy to make, as any face time with a guy as inspiring and cutting edge as Gary is Great time!
What made this whole story feel like something so special was that it did not stop there! Just before Valentine`s Day of this year, we were invited to an incredible event called #LoveAHeart. So, citing the fact that we are inspired by being social busy bodies, we gladly attended. This event was amazing for many reasons, primarily because we were able to donate a substantial amount of money to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We did this by bidding on and winning dates with some cool cats (our party is on the way folks... stay tuned) that were auctioned off for charity. The other reason hammers home the point of "the secret" in that we met a Great new friend in Leora Israel. If we thought we were social busy bodies, she is incredible and turned out to be in contact with some of the sweetest and most influential people in the social media world! Through Leora (who we kept looking Great the whole trip!) we were able to get off a plane and go straight to work... which did not end! We were able to meet and style hair for the Facebook team, who were great hosts.

We had an incredible time and were very happy to have encountered some amazing people who we learned a lot from. A special thanks goes out to Leora for having been so influential in us building so many great relationships. Keep your eyes peeled, because this is the beginning for us! We are so pumped and excited by the ideas and opportunities running through our heads, and look forward to sharing.
